Flickship is committed to protecting your personal information. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and your rights.
What we collect
When you create an account we collect your name, email address, date of birth, and profile photo. If you connect your Letterboxd account, we import your public username and film ratings to power matching — we do not store your Letterboxd password. We also collect device identifiers and push notification tokens to deliver notifications and prevent abuse.
How we use it
- To match you with other users based on film taste
- To enable messaging between matched users
- To send push notifications about matches and messages
- To improve and personalise the service
- To comply with legal obligations
Data sharing
We do not sell your data. We share it only with service providers necessary to operate Flickship — cloud infrastructure, email delivery — under strict data processing agreements.
Retention
We keep your data for as long as your account is active. You may delete your account at any time from app settings; your profile and associated data are erased within 30 days.
Your rights (GDPR)
If you are in the EEA you have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your data, and to object to or restrict processing. To exercise these rights, email hello@flickship.app. You may also lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
Security
We use TLS encryption in transit and encrypted storage at rest. No transmission over the internet is 100% secure.
Children
Flickship is not directed at anyone under 18. If we become aware that a minor has created an account, we will delete it promptly.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time and will notify you of significant changes via the app or email.
